Busy, busy, busy
Taking some inspiration from the article on the GW site about the Emperor's Fist tank company, I decided to come up with some names for my tanks - a nice respite from painting. Here is the list of the tank names and their markings:
Squadron Command Tank – 601 – Imperator Furor (Emperor’s Fury)
Command Tank – 611 – Auctorita (Power)
Tank – 612 – Marcus ab Morsus (Hammer of Pain)
Tank – 613 – Tundo ab Redemptio (Anvil of Redemption)
Command Tank – 621 – Veneratio (Honour)
Tank – 622 – Lumen ab Libertas (Light of Freedom)
Tank – 623 – Uternus Odium (Eternal Hate)
Command Tank – 631 – Glorificus Letum (Glorious Death)
Tank – 632 – Fastosus (Pride)
Tank – 633 – Bellum (War)
I don't think that I'm going to bother with painting these names in visible places on all of the tanks as some are a bit long. Instead they will all be labelled underneath the tank, again just to provide them with a little bit of character - makes for better story telling as well.
Has anyone else done anything like this?

Yes! Nice one - and I love the splinter-style camo on your basilisk too!
Names of mine include:
Opilio (Shepherd - salamander)
Malleus, Incus, Urchin and Equus (Hammer, Anvil, Hedgehog and Horse - chimerae)
Faith, Hope and Charity (sentinels)
Ubique (everywhere (motto of the Royal Artillery) - basilisk)
Victor (griffon)
Cerberus and Helios (hellhounds)
Quietus, Puple Haze and Resurgam (Leman Russes. I can't remember what my other Leman Russes are called I use them so rarely!)
Plus my as-yet-unnamed Wyvern. I might just call it 'Wyvern', but I also like MSTTD (Missile-Shooting Tank-Thingy of Doom).
By the way, I think Phobos and Deimos would be great names for a pair of hellhounds...
- Drax.
phew.
Thanks for the comment Drax.
As you can probably see I try loads of different camo patterns. Problem is tryin to get the blocky ones close to being straight edge.
I think once I get a spray gun and just mask the tanks up it will be a lot easier.
I like the name Deimos - may have to steal that for my Artemia Hellhound. :)
