115 - Liaison Squad Administratum Files
Before I sent the liaison squad on their journey to Devos IV, I took my usual array of photos. I held off posting all of them as I didn't want to show too much of the models on here before Zzzzzz had received them. You can see the previous post relating to them here, and also the Devos IV posts, here and here. Now they have safely arrived, and with Zzzzzz's permission, I shall show you some more pics with a bit more of a description as well.
I'm going to start off with the infantry. Be prepared for a fair amount of text (so you may just want to look at the pictures).

Lt Manuelson has also been supplied with two armoured vehicles, a Viper recon vehicle and a Warthog scout vehicle. Please see below for the Administratum picts of these vehicles before their deployment.
Manufacturer: Antenocitis Foundry
Model: Viper
Type: Reconnaissance
Crew: 2
Armament: Kitts pattern .75 calibre chain gun
Designation: Viper 4
Manufacturer: Antenocitis Foundry
Model: Warthog
Type: Scout
Crew: 4
Armament: 2x twin linked Rosebur heavy las rifles
Designation: Warthog 5
So there are the more detailed pictures of the squad and vehicles. A few things to note, I painted the infantry differently to how I normally would. Rather than using line highlighting, I tried drybrushing instead. These seemes to work pretty well, and I may use this approach for my future squads. However, I would probably only use it for the cloth, as I still prefer the look that an edge highlight gives on body armour etc.
I also learnt a few things about painting hazard stripes. Firstly that patience is the key. And secondly don't be afraid to start over and try again. The final version was my third attempt and there are still things that I think can be improved.
Thanks for reading this everyone.

Beautiful work! I really dig how those turned out!
Great paint jobs and some very cool fluff to match.
Zzzzzz is a lucky chap.
Indeed, they do look good; both the infantry models and vehicles. These guys are a welcome addition to 17 Korps HQ; The background notes are a nice addition.
The infantry models look nice. Clean paint work. The vehicles look somewhat out of place. The paint is a bit to general and do not convey the detail of the vehicle as well as the individual chrachters. The models don't have to much detail so the paint job has to compensate. The weapons could have been swapped for some 40k stuff to tie them in to the universe, otherwise I like the models. Nice work over all.
Thanks for the comments guys. Much appreciated.
@ Mordian7th & Dai - thanks for the comments, I am very happy with how they turned out. The fluff was a pain to write, but it was worth it in the end.
@ Zzzzzz - Glad they're a welcome addition, may they see glory in battle soon.
@ Agis - Thanks for the comment. I had a bit of difficulty with the vehicles. There is a bit of detail on them, but I chose not to pick it out too much (like the rear lights) as I felt it would look out of place. I agree with the weapons. I tried a heavy stubber on the Viper and a couple of thrown together plasma pistols on the Warthog and they just didn't seem right. Hopefully the little bit of weapon naming gave them some fluff.
Thanks again guys.
Cool!
