190 - LEGO 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse: Part 1

So my latest distraction from doing anything GW related was a cracking present I received from my wife for my 30th birthday last year. It was the LEGO 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters. Read on for pictures and my comments on this great kit.

Now this is an absolutely massive kit with 4,634 pieces and is 36cm high when finished. As with all the new LEGO kits, the build is split up into numbered sections. There were 14 numbered sections and nearly 600 steps in an instruction book over 400 pages long! The picture above is stage 1 done, so getting the outside pavement and the first few walls up.

The uniform lockers give you an idea as to how much detail is in this kit.

Stage 2 is completed. The walls are coming together and a stairway has been added.

Underneath the stairs is the ghost containment unit. A nice little addition and something they could have easily left  out with there not being a basement level on the kit.

Stage 3 is finished here and the ground floor walls are all up.

The front double doors were also finished. A nice little touch here with including the small door inside the bigger door.

This is the top down view looking into the ground floor.

Here is the side view with side door and pink mood slime escaping from the pavement.

Stage 4 finishes off the inside of the ground floor. There are some cool details again, including the alarm bell on the wall and the desks.

Stage 4 is the layout of the middle floor.

The iconic front is starting to take shape now.

The side not so much.

Stage 6 adds a lot of detail to the middle floor. The kitchen is very impressive.

Now the side of the floor is starting to look like something.

Stage 7 starts with the librarian ghost and her special book.

Shhhhh!!!!

Thanks for taking the time to look through this post. Part 2 will be up in the next few days.
